William Petersen, MD
Dr. Petersen received a Bachelor Of Science degree from Union University Albany College Of Pharmacy in 1952, and graduated from Albany Medical College in 1956. After his internship, he was stationed at the Landstuhl Army Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany for 3 years. He then returned to Albany Medical Center to complete his Pediatric training.
From 1962 until 1965 he remained on the Pediatric staff at Albany Medical Center running the Pediatric and Birth Defects Clinic as well as teaching. In 1965, he entered private practice, joining Dr. William Boland. Their office was located at 11 Sunset Drive in Latham until the practice moved in 1998 to 10 Century Hill Drive.
Dr. Petersen lives in Loudonville with his wife Carole. He has 4 grown children and 12 grandchildren. He still enjoys skiing and spending time with his family.
Henry M. Neilley, MD
Dr. Neilley grew up in New Jersey. He received his BS degree from the College of William and Mary and his MD from New Jersey Medical School. He then completed his pediatric residency at Tufts- New England Medical Center in Boston. After completion, he worked for four years at Carver Community Health Center before joining Shaker Pediatrics in 1990.
Dr. Neilley is active in the American Academy of Pediatrics and currently serves as Chairman of the Capital Region Council. He also serves on the Board of Directors. Dr. Neilley lives in Clifton Park with his wife Donna and has 2 children. He enjoys bicycling, skiing, and many other outdoor activities.
Maryla Warszawa-Ambros, MD
Dr. Ambros is a native of Poland. She graduated from the Jagiellonian University Medical College in Krakow in 1982. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at Morristown Memorial Hospital, affiliated with The Columbia University College Of Physicians and Surgeons in 1988. She has been certified by The American Board Of Pediatrics since 1987.
Dr. Ambros joined Shaker Pediatrics in 1991 after relocating from Maryland where she worked for the Johns Hopkins Health Plan for 2 years. She is a member of The American Academy Of Pediatrics and The Capital District Pediatric Society.
Dr. Ambros resides in Slingerlands and is the mother of 3 children. She enjoys art, traveling and gardening.
Sheela Graney, MD FAAP
Dr. Graney graduated from The Siena/Albany Medical College Combined Program in Humanities in Medicine in 1994. She completed a 3 year residency in Pediatrics at Albany Medical College. She joined Shaker Pediatrics in 1997.
Dr. Graney was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Society in 1993. She has been Board Certified in Pediatrics since 1998. She is a member of The American Academy Of Pediatrics and The Capital District Pediatric Society where she served as past president.
Dr. Graney lives in Latham with her husband Tim and 3 children Sarah, Erin and John. She enjoys Skiing, gardening and reading in her spare time.
David E Sherwood, MD FAAP
Dr. Sherwood received his BS in Biology from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 1993 and graduated from Albany Medical College in 1997. He completed his residency at the Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center in 2000, after which he joined Shaker Pediatrics. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and has been Board Certified in Pediatrics since 2000.
Dr. Sherwood was raised in Western New York, and currently resides in Rensselaer County. He and his wife have three very active boys and many pets. He enjoys sports, outdoor activities, music, and reading.
Carol M. Phelan FNP
Carol received her initial education at St. Peter’s Hospital, School of Nursing. She received her Bachelors in Nursing from Regent's College and completed her Master's in Nursing, as a Family Nurse Practitioner, from Sage Graduate School in 2000. She is certified by The American Nurse's Credentialing Center. Carol worked for 35 years in the Maternal- Child Division at St. Peter’s Hospital in various clinical and management roles. She began working as a NP at Shaker Pediatrics in 2003. She is a member of the Nurse Practitioner Association and The Albany Pediatric Society.
Carol is a native of Rensselaer County where she currently resides with her husband. She is the mother of 2 grown children and enjoys RVing.
